Is It Time to Renovate Your Hotel?

Renovating your property can be an expensive task. This is why many property owners wait for the ultimate time until they really have to do it. But this would also give rise to the possibility of negative reviews. Also, your property might also be giving you signs that it is about time.

Have you ever observed the paint chip off the walls or tiles within the bathroom start to crack while moving around your property?

These are all the precautionary warning signs and symptoms that inform you it could be time to renovate your estate.

The idea of renovation may make you think that you might have to close your business, and put it off to refurbish the property.

It is important to note that the condition of your hotel is a very critical part of the guest experience you provide. The first aspect that visitors notice is if the estate is old needs restoration, or is falling aside.

You should be in touch with reality, so do not think you can ignore the required renovations and accept that you'll renovate from time to time, whether or not it's minor improvements or a whole makeover.

Renovation Schedule

Renovations can be a tedious and prolonged task in case you want to redesign your entire belongings, so:

• It would be a smart idea to renovate one part or room at a time so that you do not have to vacant and close the property during the business.

• Try to schedule your plan to renovate in the slow season of business while there is comparatively low occupancy, this way you will still be able to capitalize on peak season with a fresh look.

• If you are carrying out the renovation while there are guests around, carry out the loud tasks during the day when the guests are away, usually at the time of check-in and check-out.

• When you are coming up with your renovation plan, start with a priority list of the rooms/regions that need your attention the most, and then work down the list.

Some signs that it is time to renovate your hotel:

Ill-lit rooms or the fixed lighting is not functioning. Bring in an electrician to have a look at the electricity & wires or deploy extra lighting in visitor rooms to fix the issue of insufficient light.

Malfunctioning toilets; can be quite a nuisance if the flush is not working or there is not any running hot water. This would mean that your restrooms need their plumbing to be looked at and perhaps a few replacements need to be made.

The appearance of mold is not unusual in toilets. Not only is the presence of mold upsetting but it is also a potential fitness risk for visitors.

Guest experience; when guests set foot on your property, and they start to regret their decision because of the condition, it is time to go away beyond and refresh!

Shabby carpets show that you do not care about the hotel's looks. To avoid setting a bad impression, lay down a new carpet or give it a fresh look with tiles or wooden flooring.

Flakes in walls, floors, or tiles; will only get worse with time, so try your best to fix or replace them as soon as they appear.

Creaky and/or rusty doorways and windows. This is not a great appearance or sound for visitors and gives them the impression that your estate is not updated.

Wobbly or squeaky floors become a ride risk for guests, and it would create a fear every time they walk across.

Spoiled, dented, or grubby furnishing and furniture need to be replaced as quickly as possible. They are your path towards negative reviews.

Air Conditioning; is it freezing in winter and sweaty during the summer season at your property? To make visitors happy and revel in their stay, you should reverse the cycle of air conditioners.

If you have an efficient property management system, it will be much more convenient and easier for you to block off rooms at the calendar as they would be closed for renovations. This will enable you to book the available rooms through online, offline, and direct bookings.
